Mason District art show features local scenes

“Little White Church” by David Goldstein

An art exhibit at the Mason District Government Center features paintings of local scenes, such as the plant sale at Green Spring Gardens, the Clark House, and a Mason District Little League baseball game.

The exhibition, called “All Art is Local,” features paintings by David Goldstein, a member of the Lake Barcroft Art League. The paintings will be outside Supervisor Penny Gross’ office, 6507 Columbia Pike, until Dec. 31.

“Morning Market”

“All of my artwork starts with some kind of local experience, whether exploring a local fishing village in Asia or seeing the sunlight patterns falling across the tents at the farmer’s market on Columbia Pike,” Goldstein says. “Inspiration is right in front of us when we open our eyes.”

In addition to painting, Goldstein founded a patent research company, does management consulting, and is the co-author of Creative You: Using Your Personality Type to Thrive, published by Simon & Schuster.

The Clark House

The Lake Barcroft Art League is planning a holiday art show and sale in December, but hasn’t finalized the details yet.
