Mason District Council elects board
The newly revitalized Mason District Council has elected a board of directors for 2010 and adopted bylaws. The group represents community associations and homeowner associations in Fairfax County’s Mason District.
The group elected the following officers at its June 17 meeting:
- Chairman – Roger Hoskin (Lake Barcroft)
- Vice Chair – David Feld (Lake Barcroft)
- Secretary/Communications – Mollie Loeffler (Parklawn)
- Treasurer – Jay Jarvis (Lafayette Village)
- Fairfax Federation Representative – Keith Taggart (Broyhill Crest)
The MDC adopted the following statement: “The purpose of this council shall be to act as a support network and communication forum for HOAs and CAs within Mason District. The organization shall facilitate the efforts of its member associations by promoting the community’s general welfare through non-partisan, non-sectarian civic activities.”
The group’s immediate goals are to get a current list of the leaders of all community and homeowner associations in the Mason District and develop a website and Yahoo group to facilitate communication. The MDC plans to hold four public meetings a year; the board will meet monthly.
