Mason District Running Festival promotes outdoor exercise
The Mason District Running Festival features six races, including a Kids Fun Run. |
If you’re planning to run in the Taste of Annandale 5K Race on Oct. 5, why not get some practice by joining the Mason District Running Festival on Sept. 28? Both races use the trails at Mason District Park.
Raffle prizes at the running festival include four free registrations for the Taste of Annandale 5K.
That 5K starts at 9:30 a.m. at the old Kmart parking lot on 4251 John Marr Drive, just before the start of the Taste of Annandale at 10 a.m. on Tom Davis Drive. Register here.
The Mason District Running Festival actually consists of six different runs:
- A six-hour and three-hour race start at 8 a.m.
- 5K and 10K races are at 9 a.m.
- A Kids Fun Run (1.25 mile) starts at 10 a.m.
- There’s a half-marathon beginning at 11 a.m.
PR Performance Fitness, a Gold-level sponsor of the Taste of Annandale, will lead warm-up exercises at both the running festival and the Taste of Annandale 5K.
