Meet your neighbors in Annandale at a National Night Out event
National Night Out, on Tuesday Aug. 7.
Shopping Center, on Columbia Pike by Gallows Road, 6-9 p.m., held in
cooperation with the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department and Mason District Police Station.
at 7:30 p.m., in the parking lot in front of Silverado. Bring lawn chairs and
blankets. There will be giveaways and an opportunity to meet local law enforcement officer and firefighters.
The National Night Out campaign, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, encourages
citizens and homeowners associations to schedule block parties or other family
activities with a crime-prevention theme. The idea is to bring neighbors
together to support anti-crime efforts, strengthen community-police
partnerships, and get neighbors to look out for one another and become more
aware of suspicious activities.

6:30-8:30 p.m. Free pizza and barbecue sandwiches, fire truck tours, meet the
police K9 unit, games and prizes, entertainment from Ramsay Recreation Center.
Lutheran Church, 6362 Lincolnia Road, 6-7:30 p.m. Community potluck. Meat,
cheese, and vegetable trays, non-alcoholic drinks provided. Bring a dish to
share. Public invited.
Ravensworth-Bristow Civic Association—Ravensworth Baptist
Church yard, 5100 Ravensworth Road, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Free refreshments. Police
officers and firefighters will be there with their equipment.
The free movie outdoors sounds like a cool community event – wish more was being done to promote this…this is the first I have heard of it so thanks for putting useful stuff like this here.

Yeah, I suppose. It only took them half a year to remove the Annandale Parade flyer from that awesome display case located at the corner of Columbia Pike and Little River…would some neon construction paper and a sharpie cost that much? How about a banner slung over Columbia Pike that coulg be reused and "courtesy of xyz" to give the sponsor some free advertizing. Pu those $500000 fire trucks to good use.
