Meeting on Lacey school set for School Dec. 12

Community residents are invited to a meeting Saturday, Dec., 12, 11:30 a.m., on plans for the new elementary school to replace the Lacey Center in Annandale’s Broyhill Crest neighborhood.

Mason Supervisor Penny Gross and outgoing school board member Kaye Kory are hosting the meeting, which will include presentations by Fairfax County Public School staff. The new school is expected to open in fall 2012. Key decisions to be made include the attendance boundary and whether it will be K-5 or K-6. The meeting will be in the multipurpose room at the Lacey Center, 3705 Crest Drive.

  1. This school really needs to be K-6. We have been moved to Falls Church High School district. The pyramid calls for going to Luther Jackson M.S. which only has 7th and 8th grade, then on to Falls Church H.S.

  2. Many of the kids in the Lacey area are still going to Poe MS… this is the issue the Board self created by ripping the Annandale kids out of AHS after, in some cases, the houses attending AHS for 50+ years… like my house! I am looking forward to the meeting to get the answers the board arrogantly refused to address in the meetings held at AHS…
