More sponsors join the Taste Annandale
Since we announced the Taste of Annandale sponsors last month, we’ve gotten a few more.
Both State Farm agent Anh Nguyen and the Subway restaurant on Columbia Pike in Annandale joined the festival as Gold sponsors.
Mathnasium. Burke & Herbert Bank, and Mason Supervisor Andres Jimenez signed on as Silver sponsors.
The Taste of Annandale is this Saturday, Sept. 21, 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m.at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space, 7200 Columbia Pike.
Since Anh Nguyen’s agency took part in the Taste of Annandale last year, the company relocated to 5103A Backlick Road, Annandale.
State Farm offers home insurance, life insurance, auto insurance, small business insurance, disability coverage, financial services, and pet insurance. To serve the local population, the office employs agents who speak Spanish and Vietnamese.
The Fire Station Subway, at 7120 Columbia Pike is a new sponsor this year.
The franchise owner, Emil Ranakusuma, decided to join the Taste of Annandale after receiving a THRIVE grant from Fairfax County.
THRIVE provides technical assistance, financial reviews, and consulting to small businesses to help them continue their post-pandemic recovery.
Ranakusuma says his THRIVE mentor, Hope Murphy, encouraged him to develop Subway as a “champion of the community.” He also owns the Subway at 7857A Heritage Drive, Annandale.

Burke & Herbert Bank, at 4235 Annandale Road, Annandale, offers a mix of old-fashioned values and state-of-the-art technology.
As a community bank, Burke & Herbert focuses on personal relationships and services that large financial institutions don’t have, such as free checking and no minimum balance requirements.
Mason Supervisor Andres Jimenez represents the interests of Annandale, Bailey’s Crossroads, Seven Corners, Lincolnia, and the rest of Mason District in the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
Jimenez’s goal is to make Mason District the cultural hub of Fairfax County. To that end, one of his projects was the just-completed Mason District Restaurant Week, which highlighted some of the great dining options in the community.
