Visit Fairfax has launched a mobile app listing restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and wineries offering takeout during the coronavirus pandemic.
The free Take Out Trail mobile passport program, accessible via computer and smartphone, is aimed at boosting business at restaurants, wineries, and breweries forced to close during the pandemic, while giving residents options for ordering food from places they might not have tried before.
Visit Fairfax is a nonprofit that promotes Fairfax County as a tourist destination. Now that historic, recreational, and cultural sites are closed, Visit Fairfax has ramped up lists of virtual attractions and events.
Take Out Trail lists just a few restaurants in the Annandale/Mason District area, including Glory Days Grill in Barcroft Plaza, Foxfire Grill in Pinecrest Plaza, and Meaza Restaurant in Bailey’s Crossroads.
A little further afield, the app lists Blackfinn Ameripub near the Dunn Loring Metro station, Caboose Commons and Ted’s Bulletin at the Mosaic District, and the Settle Down Easy Brewing Co. in Falls Church.
Visit Fairfax is updating the app as much as possible, but urges people to call these venues before going out as their information is constantly changing.
Yelp also highlights restaurants offering takeout, although it’s not clear whether these listings are accurate or how often they are updated.
Among the Annandale restaurants with takeout listed on Yelp: Kimen Ramen Izakaya, Thai Food, Balo Kitchen, Choong Man Chicken, Rice Pot, Pelicana Chicken, Dice Burger, To Sok Jip, Release the Craycken, Choong Hwa Won, Nua House, and Yechon.
Takeout options in Bailey’s Crossroads listed on Yelp include Raaga, City Diner, Oozie Chicken Plus, Taco Ssam, Duangrat’s, Denny’s, and Full Kee.
Thanks for posting this! Any Fairfax County restaurant offering takeout can contact Visit Fairfax via email at [email protected] and let them know you want to be added to the trail. It's free! The more Annandale/Mason District restaurants we can get on there the better the local community will benefit.
