When the Audrey Moore RECenter was built, nearly 40 years
ago, it was the first RECenter in Fairfax County. “It is appropriate to start
envisioning the future of the RECenter,” says Tom Kennedy, and to encourage the Park
Authority to start planning for improvements.
Kennedy is organizing the new friends group with support and
encouragement from Tony Vellucci, a member of the Park Authority Board,
representing the Braddock District.

Kennedy suggests people visit the South Run, Oak Marr, and
Spring Hill RECenters to get an idea of the types of improvements that might work
for the Audrey Moore RECenter.

He is hoping for a strong turnout at the organizational
meeting to show the Park Authority officials who will be in attendance that
there is a strong desire within the community to upgrade Audrey Moore. If you’re
interested in joining the friends group, contact Tom Kennedy, [email protected].

It needs a deep hot tub like the Mt Vernon Rec Center. Best hot tub in the FFX Rec center system. Its the only one that you can stand up in and have the water jets hit you in the right places. It also has seating too.
Audrey Moore is overdue!
Would hope Frank Vajda, Mason District Park Authority Board member, would also be in favor of long-overdue improvements. Has he commented?
