New homes bring a touch of luxury to Annandale

An infill development called Red Oak Manor is bringing a touch of luxury to an older neighborhood in central Annandale.

The development consists of six houses on Travis Parkway. Two have sold, including one that’s already occupied.

The wall in the dining room has built-in niches.

The three-level Wedgewood model is 6,912 square feet and is listed at $2.357 million. It has six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and two half baths.

The primary bedroom has a seating area, wet bar, fireplace, and a screened balcony. The lower level is completely finished, with a fitness room, wet bar, exercise room, and spa with a sauna and steam shower. The three-car garage has two EV charging outlets.

The primary bedroom.

Features that are optional on most other new homes are standard at Red Oak Manor, says Premier Homes Group President Drew Lawless.

That includes white oak floors, crown moldings, retractable deck doors, high-end appliances, quartz countertops, and high-end light fixtures.

The development is named for this red oak tree.

The Fisher model is a three-story house all above ground with five bedrooms and a second-story porch in front. It has an elevator, making it suitable for a multigenerational family. It’s listed at $2.37 million.

Red Oak Manor residents will be in a homeowners association. HOA dues will be $125 a month, which will cover the maintenance of common areas and underground stormwater tanks, Lawless says.

An indoor-outdoor seating area is adjacent to the living room.

Premier Homes Group is also building a larger home on the corner of Gallows Road and Travis Parkway. It’s expected to be completed in the spring and will be listed for about $2.49 million.

The company is building a single-family infill home on Bennett Drive and another on Pine Drive in Annandale and is in the process of buying a couple of other houses on Travis Parkway and one on Raleigh Road in Annandale for future development.

  1. Gee, who wouldn’t want to pay $2.5 million to look out your windows directly at your neighbors? Just another example of over-building by a greedy developer!

    1. Why does this matter? We live in a dense area. People don’t generally chose to live inside the beltway and expect to get huge plots of land with no neighbors.

      1. It matters when you waste 2.5 million to be crammed in next to someone else. Anyone who spends money on this is stupid stupid stupid and also pretentious.

        1. If you don’t want to be “crammed in” next to your neighbors, then go take your $2.5M out to western Loudoun county. Large plots of land inside the beltway are few and far between, and therefore expensive. These are massive 6k-7k sq/ft homes with 5-6 bedrooms and 7-10 bathrooms. They might not be for you, but they are for somebody. I don’t think that makes them “stupid” or “pretentious.”

  2. I’m going to have to agree, that’s a lot of money to have no privacy. My house is a fraction of the cost and while it’s not brand new or modern, I’d rather have my yard and privacy.

  3. Yesterday’s price is not today’s price! 2.3 sounds about right for a new build in the beltway. Not sure how much land is left to build. Looks like a half acre alone will cost you 500k.

  4. Luxury is not the word I would use to describe this house. How about simply saying “expensive”. For me, a luxurious home would need considerably more extravagance and comfort features. This is simply a very expensive piece of real estate in Annadale, of which there are a number.

  5. What I want to know is who are all of these people who can afford to buy $1 million dollar homes let alone $2.5 million? I didn’t realize Annandale was Hollywood in VA.

  6. You all are just mad you can’t afford this house. The tract of land is huge. Every burn is new and updated to code – plumbing, electrical, hvac, fixtures, roofing, etc. It includes two charging stations and likely has an updated and open layout making good use of the square footage. Don’t be a hater, it’s nicer than your house.

    1. I can afford this house. The tract of land is nothing compared to my yard. This house is not nicer than mine.
And… I agree with the other commenters.

  7. Seems that someone figured out that Annandale is in the center of everything and there’s opportunity (as we all knew!). Having been here for years, I am seeing more high-end development in in Annandale than ever before. Have you heard they are rezoning for apartments near the K Market? What can we as individuals do to slow this down or at least voice our concerns? Cast your vote for the politician you’re aligned with and attend zoning meetings. We all want to live somewhere nice but no one loves their property taxes skyrocketing.

  8. Annandale is looking to do what Alexandria and Arlington did.
Price homes out of reach for the low/ average income families so they have a higher class of people occupying the area.
Easiest way to get rid of people you don’t want around.
    Sad but true.

  9. Would you buy an inexpensive home in a dangerous area to encourage a lower class of people? Of course not – you could have done so at any time in your life and chose not to.
