New Lima District restaurant offers Peruvian cuisine

The Tandoori Nights restaurant at 7137 Little River Turnpike
in Annandale has a new name – Lima District Peruvian Kitchen – which reflects
its revised menu.
This is the place to go for lomo saltado, the traditional Peruvian
mainstay that consists of marinated sirloin steak served with onions tomatoes,
spices, fries, and rice ($16.99).

Half of a charcoal roasted chicken (pollo a brasa) with two sides
is $9.99, and ceviche de pescado ($13.99).
Other Peruvian specialties include tallarines a la huancaina
con lomo saltado (linguini with huancaina sauce and steak); aeropuerto de carne
(fried rice with beef, egg noodles, bean sprouts, green onions, egg, and red
pepper); and arroz chaufa de pollo (a Peruvian version of chicken fried rice).

Lima District is open Thursday-Sunday 11 a.m.-2 a.m. and Tuesday and
Wednesday 11 a.m-11 p.m. It’s closed on Mondays.
