Members of the Bailey’s Crossroads Revitalization Corporation (BCRC) got a glimpse of the proposed Triple-A retail center June17.
The center is slated for the stand-alone building in the shopping center at the
corner of Route 50 and Wilson Boulevard in Seven Corners. The long-vacant
building was most recently occupied by a Bennigan’s restaurant.

The Triple-A center would offer a combination of light auto
services, such as oil changes and tire repairs, plus travel planning and
travel-related merchandise like luggage and maps.
AAA Mid-Atlantic

Several residents of the Courtland Park neighborhood expressed
concerns about the impact of the shopping center on traffic. The only access to the center will be from the side streets;
there won’t be an entrance on Route 7. Residents said Washington Street
is already backed up by people trying to turn onto Route 7, and too many people are using their neighborhood to cut through from Route 7 to
Columbia Pike.

“I’m pleased to see something new in the neighborhood,” said
Frank Sellers of the BCRC, noting this is the first project to come forward
since the Bailey’s Crossroads redevelopment plan was approved four years ago.
It’s worrisome, however, that the shops might not be able to make enough money to
stay in business, he said. “It sure would be terrible for the community if you
fail.”

This is a hoot! Who wants to bet that the landlord will ask FCPD to start ticketing people for cutting through the parking lot the same way they do at the BofA/Public Storage parking lot at Sleepy Hollow Rd and Seven Corners. Developers will say anything to get a project approved. The reality will likely be very different.
OMG that is hilarious. I got a $150 ticket for cutting through the bank parking lot. To suggest that cutting through a parking lot is like suggesting people turn right on red when there's a NO TURN ON RED sign. It. Is. A. Traffic. Violoation. And. You. Will. Be. Ticketed. If. Caught.

Don't worry you won't see a Pottery Barn or Container Store around here. But you will see dollar stores and next day loans.
We don't need another place to service our cars. Can we please get a bagel shop? Or a decent sandwich place? There are no good places in the Seven Corners area to grab a quick lunch. Look how busy Dog Fish and Chipolte are! There are customers here… and we are hungry!
The Bailey's/Seven Corner's corridor could and should be a great robust area full of shops, dining, even bagel places… like Clarendon or the Mosaic District. Why isn't it?
