The library is scheduled to close Aug. 17 and reopen in a
limited capacity in the much smaller location in early October. There
will only be room for a small collection of books, a few reference materials,
and only the current issue of periodicals. Everything else will be put in
storage. If someone wants a book not there, a librarian will be able to order it from another library.

The temporary library won’t have any meeting rooms, and there
won’t be space for tutoring or other programs. It will only have eight
computers for use by the public.

The Wilson Library renovation will start this fall and should take
18 months to two years to complete. It will be expanded by 2,130 square feet to
accommodate more meeting space and computers for the public.
There are two other libraries fairly close: George Mason Regional Library in Annandale and Thomas Jefferson Library in Falls Church.
Have been coming to Woodrow Wilson Library since it opened. In fact my class walked down from Baileys Elementary to see it in its very first days.I would go there in the 60s on sat mornings with friends to watch movies. It carries such fond memories.Hope the look of it won't change too much, but welcome the expansion. C.L Falls Church Va
Aw! Love library memories! Thanks for sharing, Anonymous 8:29!
My teen years library in the 70s, I spent many hours there and have lots of good memories too (except when my bike lock was cut and my first 10 speed bike stolen).
