The Mason Police District’s Citizen Advisory Committee named Sgt. Kevin Gehr the 2024 Officer of the Year.

Gehr’s name was added to the CAC’s plaque listing all the officers of the year. CAC Vice Chair Sean Bonyun presented him with a $150 Visa gift card at the committee’s Nov. 6 meeting.

Gehr is the officer that the new ones emulate, said Crime Prevention Officer Stacy Sassano.

“He is a phenomenal officer and a phenomenal person,” Sassano said. “He’s one of the first people to go in after the station receives a hot call.”

Gehr has been at the Mason station for seven years and also serves on the Tysons Urban Team. Following his recent promotion to sergeant, he will soon be relocated to the Mount Vernon station.
