The Cubs, the AAA division team in the Mason District Little League had a great season, with five wins, one loss, and one tie. Unfortunately,
they lost the championship, 9-10, in a spirited game against the Pirates at
Mason District Park June 10.

The “Cubbies” are ages 9-11, and most of them attend
Columbia, Parklawn, or Sleepy Hollow elementary schools. The team manager is
Ryan Aiken and the coaches are Eric Hotmire and Tim Woodruff.

“It was simply a fantastic season,” says Woodruff. “The boys
learned some great fundamental baseball skills and, perhaps more important,
some vital life lessons about effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship. They were
