Park authority to tear down house in Bren Mar Park
The Fairfax County Park Authority will demolish an old, vacant house in Bren Mar Park in late May or early June. The work is expected to take two weeks.
Bren Mar Park, at 5415 Colliers Lane, is off Edsall Road in the Alexandria area of Mason District, It has a playground, trails, a picnic area, and several conservation areas.
The single-family residence was on the property of an additional parcel donated to the Park Authority in 2017. The Park Authority determined the house is not historically significant and serves no public purpose.

The park will remain open but parking might be limited due to construction traffic. The project includes erosion and sediment control, light grading, and seeding the disturbed land. The work is being conducted by TMG Construction LLC of Purcellville, Va.
