Patient First offers free candy X-rays

Patient First, including the location at 7042A Little River Turnpike in Annandale, is offering free candy X-rays through Nov. 1.

The X-rays give parents peace of mind about their children’s Halloween candy by detecting foreign objects, such as glass, metal, and plastic.

The X-rays also give children a chance to see what their candy looks like on the inside. In addition, this program also makes visiting a doctor’s office a positive experience, which can help reduce children’s anxiety for future visits when they are sick or hurt.

Patient First is also giving out free safety blinkers for trick-or-treaters through Oct. 31. These blinking lights can be attached to Halloween costumes to improve visibility.

Patient First offers the following tips to ensure trick-or-treaters are safe on Halloween night:

  • Accompany young children.
  • For older children, know their route, have them bring a phone to check in, and set a time for them to come home.
  • Have them wear bright clothing or reflective gear.
  • Make sure no one eats any treats until they have been inspected by an adult.
