Pedestrian struck on Little River Turnpike
Two days after the Fairfax County Police Department launched
a pedestrian safety campaign, a man was struck by a vehicle while trying to
cross Little River Turnpike at Carrico Drive in Annandale.

The victim, age 61, is in the hospital in critical condition.
He is expected to survive, said Sgt. James Curry of the FCPD.

He was not in a crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound BMW
sedan shortly after 10 p.m. on April 26. The driver “was not able to avoid hitting the pedestrian,”

Another pedestrian was struck on Little River Turnpike at around 12:50AM on May 12th at the corner of John Marr Drive. I was on the scene just after it occurred along with about 8 other good Samaritans. A local Annandale teen off-duty lifeguard took control of aiding the victim until EMS arrived.
