identical to that of long-time Mason Supervisor Penny Gross.

Gros starts her
new job July 1, superseding Glasgow Interim Principal Jim Oliver. She has “significant
experience as a teacher and administrator,” most recently as principal of Key Middle School from 2006 to 2011, “where she established a strong track record for
increasing student achievement and innovating research-based instructional
practices,” states a June 28 email to parents from Dan Parris, FCPS
Assistant Superintendent for Cluster 3.

Gros completed
her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, earning degrees in
English and Spanish and has worked in schools in Texas and the District of Columbia. She spent the past
two years working on a doctorate degree in educational leadership from Virginia
Tech.
