Fairfax County Park Authority has announced the musical line-up for the Mason District Park Festival in Annandale, Va. The festival takes places Saturday, Sept. 25, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

This year’s live entertainment includes:
11 a.m.-
Kristina Furey. Described as “chick rock with tomboy attitude,” Furey has been compared with Sheryl Crow, Michelle Branch, and Melissa Etheridge. Dan Furey will accompany her on the guitar.
12:15 p.m. –
Eric Peters. The former member of the defunct acoustic duet, Ridgely, Peters is a singer/songwriter known from his ability to create unique character sketches.
1:15 p.m. – Joe Rathbone and his band. Rathbone is an emotional storyteller and has been compared to Elvis Costello and Tom Petty. Expect to hear driving guitar riffs and acoustic dynamics reminiscent of true indie pop.
2:15 p.m. – Bill Mallonee. Paste magazine listed Bill Mallonee as number 65 on its “100 Greatest Living Songwriters Poll.” Mallonee, the lyrical and musical source behind the late Vigilantes of Love, started playing music in Athens, Ga., in the late 80s.
In addition to live entertainment, the Mason District Park Festival will have children’s rides, crafts, pony rides, hayrides, a moonbounce, and police and fire department demonstrations. Admission to the festival is free, with tickets on sale for individual rides. The park is at 6621 Columbia Pike in Annandale, Va.
