Pharmacies robbed, men assaulted

The Fairfax County Police Department reports the following recent crimes in the Annandale/Mason District area:

There was a malicious wounding in Bailey’s Crossroads on March 13. A man was on the 3300 block of Glenmore Drive, shortly before 10 p.m., when he was approached by five juveniles. One of the juveniles asked the victim a question and then assaulted him. The five suspects then ran away. One of them was wearing a dark-colored hoodie.

A man was inside a friend’s apartment in the Fairmont Gardens in the 4100 block of Wadsworth Court, Annandale, at about 5:30 p.m. on March 15, when three men assaulted him and stole his wallet and ran away. The three suspects are described as Hispanic.

Someone broke into Bara Pharmacy, at 7700 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, at 1:50 a.m. on March 15 and stole merchandise.

There was also a break-in at Hann’s Pharmacy, at 8505 Arlington Boulevard, shortly after 3:30 a.m. on March 15. The suspect is described as a thin man wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

There were two incidents involving the recovery of stolen vehicles.

On March 12, officers attempted to stop a stolen car at about 6 p.m. at 6000 Vista Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads. The car sped off. Officers followed the car for a short distance before it came to a stop and the driver ran away. The driver was caught by an officer and identified as a juvenile. The juvenile was charged with grand larceny, drug possession, obstruction of justice, disregarding a police signal to stop, driving without a license, and reckless driving.

Also on March 12, officers responded to a crash near the intersection of Leesburg Pike and S. George Mason Drive just after 9 p.m. The occupants of one of the cars, later determined to be stolen, ran from the scene. The occupants were located with the assistance of the police helicopter and were identified as juveniles. Charges are pending.
