Planning Commission approves Spa Forest

This office building could be converted to a high-end spa.
The Board of Zoning Appeals approved a special permit allowing an office building on General Green Way in an industrial area of Mason District to be converted to a health club and spa facility called Spa Forest.
The BZA limited the hours of operation for Spa Forest from 8 a.m.-midnight, rejecting the applicant’s proposal for having the facility open 24 hours a day. The Planning Commission agreed with those limits. The application now goes to the Board of Supervisors for a final decision.
Spa Forest would have therapeutic pools, saunas, a fitness club, spray pool for children, restaurant, bar, massage rooms, and salon services. The facility could serve up to 800 people at any one time.

  1. Does the fact that the owners are currently being investigated for tax fraud not factor into this? I am all for the project, just curious if the county has taken this into consideration…
