Plans shaping up for a bigger and better Taste of Annandale
Crowds converge on Tom Davis Drive for the 2017 Taste of Annandale. |
The fourth annual Taste of Annandale – just two months away – is shaping up as the best one ever.
The Taste of Annandale 4.0 takes place Oct. 13, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., along Tom Davis Drive in the heart of the community. Most of the street – between Columbia Pike and John Marr Drive – will be closed off. There is no charge to attend.
This family-friendly and pet-friendly street festival features live music and dance, a 5K race, a full program of children’s activities, a pet contest, a chili cook-off pitting the police against firefighters, vendors, a demonstration park – and of course, plenty of food options reflecting the community’s diversity. There will also be some new features to be announced soon.
The Taste of Annandale 5K starts at 9:30 a.m. in the Kmart parking lot. More details on this should be released later this week.
The children’s program, hosted by the ACCA Child Development Center on Columbia Pike, will include live shows, costumed characters, games, crafts, and pumpkin patch photos.
