Police arrest man for burglary and shoplifting

Fairfax County Police arrested a homeless man for burglarizing two local businesses.

On Jan. 13, officers responded to a commercial burglary report on the 9400 block of Mathy Drive in Mantua. The victim said the business was burglarized the previous day and provided surveillance footage.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Jan. 13, officers responded to a business on the 7200 block of Little River Turnpike in Annandale for a larceny report. The complainant said a man entered the business and stole merchandise. Officers located the man outside of the business and took him into custody.

Officers recognized Matthew Fisch, 32, of no fixed address, as the suspect involved in the Jan. 12 burglary.

Fisch was charged with burglary and petit larceny. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
