Police release photo of bank robbery suspect

Fairfax County police have released this photo of the person suspected in the robbery of the Wachovia Bank branch at 7620 Little River Turnpike in Annandale (near the Hummer Road intersection) at around noon on March 16.

The suspect approached a 20-year-old woman behind the counter, passed her a note, and demanded money. The victim complied, and the suspect took the money and ran. Police prefer not reveal the amount of money taken nor the name of the victim involved in cases under investigation.

The suspect was described as white, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing around 160 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt, black hoodie, and black sunglasses.

Police believe the same suspect could also be responsible for the Feb. 19 robbery of a BB&T bank at 6130 Redwood Square Center in the Centreville area, as well as earlier bank robberies in Manassas City and Prince William County.

By the way, if you’re in danger of being robbed at an ATM, don’t think you’ll be able to alert the police by keying in your pin in reverse order. That’s an urban legend.
