Police report: pursuit, larceny, burglaries

Cooper [FCPD]

Officers from the Mason District Police Station on June 3 located a 2009 Mercedes SUV at Leesburg Pike and Nevius Street in Seven Corners that had been involved in a theft from a nearby business.

The driver refused to stop, so officers initiated a traffic stop at about 2:40 p.m. The SUV stopped momentarily and a passenger ran but was taken into custody. The driver sped off again but the pursuit was terminated.
Robert Cooper, 38, of Maryland, was charged with grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell or distribute, and falsely identify himself to law enforcement.
Two additional outstanding warrants for grand larceny and probation violation were served.
There was a commercial burglary at Bailey’s Pharmacy at 5623 Columbia Pike in Bailey’s Crossroads shortly before 3 a.m. on June 3. Officers responded to an alarm and discovered the rear door showed signs of forced entry. The investigation revealed two men broke into the business and stole merchandise. The suspects were described as 20 to 30 years old.
There were also multiple commercial burglaries at an office building at 8301 Arlington Blvd. in Merrifield during the early morning on June 3.  Property was stolen from District Pharmacy, the Avison Young real estate company, HearUSA, Prosperity Primary Care, and Virginia Endocrinology Consultants. Several other offices in that building were broken into, but nothing was stolen from them.
