Police report shooting in Bailey’s Crossroads
“A homeowner reported that a woman broke into their home and was subsequently shot,” the Fairfax County Police Department reports. That incident happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Feb. 10 in the 3300 block of Wilkins Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads.
The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The homeowners and the victim apparently knew one another. Major Crimes Bureau detectives are investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.
In other crime news, police officers observed a group of juveniles entering unoccupied cars in a parking garage shortly before 2 a.m. on Feb. 5 in the 5500 block of Leesburg Pike in Bailey’s Crossroads. Four juveniles were detained and face charges of grand larceny.
On Feb. 6, at about 2:40 p.m. a man approached a woman in the 7800 block of Heritage Drive, Annandale, threw her to the ground, took property, and ran away. No injuries were reported.
There was an attempted robbery at about 9:40 p.m. on Feb. 7 on Little River Turnpike at Wedgewood Drive in Annandale. The victim was walking home when a man approached, displayed a handgun. and demanded money. The victim ran away.
