Police seek burglar who hit Mason District shops

Fairfax County detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who committed a series of nighttime commercial burglaries in the Mason District.
Since late December, the suspect shattered the glass front doors of four small businesses in the:
- 6100 block of Columbia Pike, Bailey’s Crossroads, Dec. 26, 1:18 a.m.
- 4700 block of N. Chambliss St., Lincolnia, Jan. 11, 5:10 a.m.
- 5800 block of Leesburg Pike, Bailey’s Crossroads, Feb. 22, 12:48 a.m.
- 5500 block of Leesburg Pike, Bailey’s Crossroads, Feb. 22, 1:38 a.m.
The suspect is described as a man who appears to have a stocky build and typically wears a mask, jeans, a distinctive hooded sweatshirt, and sneakers. See a surveillance video here.

I find it intersting that most of these occurences are in proximitiy to the homeless shelter and the Culmore section 8 houseing projects.
I find it troubling that nothing seems to be happening to resolve this ongoing chronic problem.
This is ridiculous. These numbers seem to be the only thing going up in lieu of progress that is in decline.
