Police seek suspect for assault in Annandale

Fairfax County Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who assaulted and attempted to rob a man in the 3200 block of Woodburn Road in Annandale shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 20.

The suspect demanded money and assaulted the victim. After the assault, the suspect produced a knife. The victim again refused to give money and the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect was described as Black, 6’02”, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, and black square glasses.

Patrol officers, a K9 unit, and the police helicopter searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the Mason Police Station at 703-256-8035 and ask to speak with a detective. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Solvers.

    1. The problem is everyone wants to race & politics. STOP. A man was assaulted & they’re looking for the guy that did it. So sick of people putting politics & race into everything.

  2. I am Shaka Barnes. And you all are full of lies. There was no knife. I asked for money. I dont rob people. I ask them. He showed up to the scene to produce an altercation and he made initial contact by striking my hand and then I punched him in the face. I dont even know if those pictures are accurate. I dont remember having that facial expression. I am out of jail now. And I did 7 months behind that charge. I accepted an attempted robbery because that’s how people may feel when I ASK.
