Police seek victims in massage parlor robberies
Detectives with the Fairfax County Police Department believe a man arrested for robbing a massage parlor in Seven Corners might be responsible for a similar case in Springfield two years ago and are seeking more victims.
Mohamed Tahir, 33, of Falls Church was arrested for robbing Deep Blue Massage at 6105 Arlington Blvd. shortly before 11 a.m. on Sept. 9. According to the police, he was armed with a handgun and taser, assaulted two employees, and stole money. Two victims were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Tahir was taken into custody the same night and charged with robbery, strangulation, and two counts of abduction by force.
Detectives assigned to the case noticed Tahir matched the description and behavior of a suspect in a similar robbery in 2021 at Blue Therapy Massage at 5532 Hempstead Way in Springfield in 2021.
Tahir was arrested for that incident on Nov. 30 and charged with robbery, strangulation, two counts of abduction by force, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
Based on information from these cases, detectives believe there may be additional victims. They urge victims to come forward regardless of when a crime might have occurred. Victims can speak with a victim services specialist at 703-246-2141. Anyone with information about this case should call the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 5, or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Solvers.
