PrincessLand, a spa for girls, slated to open in Annandale

This building was originally a residence.

UPDATE, Dec. 17: The sign is down, so maybe this isn’t happening?

The long-vacant building at 7224 Columbia Pike that used to house the Annandale Florist is finally getting a new tenant: PrincessLand, a spa for girls.

We can’t provide much more information, as repeated attempts to contact the owner over the past few weeks have been unsuccessful. A newly posted website, however, says PrincessLand will offer day spa and salon services for girls age 4-18, including hair styling, facials, manicures, pedicures, and makeovers. The facility could be used for birthday parties, baby showers, and other events.

Gib and Mabel Sherfey opened Annandale Florist in that building in 1955. Their son, Gary Sherfey ran the business for 45 years, until he retired at the end of 2012. Kim Park purchased the business from Sherfey in September 2013 and reopened the Annandale Florist at 7035 Columbia Pike.
