Principal of Bailey’s ES is leaving
Julie Easa, the principal of Bailey’s Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences in Bailey’s Crossroads, is leaving her position, as of Oct. 30.
In an email to the Bailey’s community, Easa wrote, “We have made a family decision (not an easy one for sure) to move to Florida to be closer to my parents who are in need of additional support.” Easa grew up in central Florida.
The Fairfax County Department of Human Resources, in conjunction with Region 2 Assistant Superintendent Fabio Zuluaga, will inform parents within the next few days about the selection process for a new principal.
Easa has been principal of Bailey’s ES since August 2016.
“Working with the families, students, and staff at Bailey’s has been an incredible experience,” she says. “Each day I have had the privilege to see the students grow as they learned to read, understand math concepts, develop their oral language, and establish friendships.”
Easa says she is “especially proud of the professional learning community we have established that celebrates our diversity, works collaboratively to address the needs of our students, ensures all children have access to high levels of instruction, integrates the arts and sciences, and focuses on bilingual education.”
