Public invited to Little League opening ceremony
The Mason District Little League invites the community to its opening day ceremony Saturday, April 11, at Mason District Park, 8-10 a.m.
The public is invited to stay and watch a Majors game at 10 a.m.
Thanks to the renovation of the field, the MDLL is able to field an Intermediate Division team. And, for the first time, MDLL will have a girls softball team, for ages 9-12.
“We are very excited about this and hope that these programs grow in the coming seasons,” says Tim Sample of the MDLL.
My children have been involved in this league for many years. It is full of dedicated coaches and parents who help in the formation of young men and women and a great asset to the community. The new Pudge Rodriquez Field is a Major League caliber facility — its construction was overseen by the Nationals ground crew. The Friday Night Lights it a great feature of the league which allows all levels of play to get to play under the lights like their MLB idols.
