Ravensworth principal is leaving

Ravensworth Elementary School Principal Roxanne Salata is moving on. In a June 28 message to Ravenworth staff and families, Salata announced she has accepted the position of principal at Clermont Elementary School in Alexandria, effective July 15.

The Region 4 leadership team will work with the staff and the community to find the next principal for Ravensworth, which is in North Springfield, close to Braddock Road and the beltway. Parents will be contacted on the next steps in the principal selection process.

“I will miss our caring Ravensworth community very much,” Salata wrote. “I will also truly miss the fantastic staff that I have worked alongside with every day for the past six years, and who I am proud to call my Ravensworth family.”

“When I was appointed principal in 2013, I had so many ideas and dreams for our students and school community, including spending three years as an unbreakable team during renovation,” she continued. “I am humbled and happy to say I have seen many of these dreams come true, largely due to your unwavering support and dedicated hard work.”
