Recent crimes include hit and run and assault

Fairfax County Police Department officers tried to stop a black Audi A3 for a traffic violation shortly before 9:30 p.m. on July 6 at the Seven Corners shopping center, the FCPD reports.

The man drove off and a short pursuit ended after officers lost sight of the car. A short time later, a driver was struck by the Audi A3 and directed officers to its location. 

Javon Moore, 26, of Falls Church, was charged with hit and run, driving on a suspended license, possession of marijuana, and disregarding a police command to stop. He was held without bond.

There was a malicious wounding in the 2900 block of John Marshall Drive in Seven Corners on July 5 at about 8:50 p.m.

A teenager was assaulted by several other males and was struck by an unknown object that caused a large laceration. The suspects, described as Hispanic and in their late teens to early 20s, ran away.

A man reported that a woman knocked on his door, entered his apartment, and took a cell phone at 5:15 p.m. on July 6 at Fairmont Gardens in Annandale. Officers located the woman and discovered she also pulled the fire alarm without cause.

Williams [FCPD]

Luciana Hurtado, 24, of Annandale, was charged with trespassing, petit larceny, and false fire alarm. Hurtado was taken to the Adult Detention Center and held without bond.

A police officer attempted to arrest a man known to be wanted when the man assaulted the officer and ran off. That happened at Rectory Lane/Sutter Lane at 5:47 p.m. on July 6.

Officers caught up to him and arrested Ronnie Williams, 33, of Annandale. Williams was charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, escape with force, and violation of a protective order. He was held without bond.

In other crimes, a bicycle was stolen from a garage in the 5800 block of Falls Gate Court in Bailey’s Crossroads on July 5, and an employee at the Target on Arlington Boulevard in Seven Corners reported a man used a tool to unlock and steal electronics and concealed merchandise on July 6.
