Recent crimes: robbery at Target, assaults
The Fairfax County Police Department reports the following recent crimes in the Annandale/Mason District area:
The Target at 5115 Leesburg Pike in Bailey’s Crossroads was robbed on Aug. 27. A man and woman exited the store with merchandise without paying shortly after 6:30 p.m.
When confronted by a store employee and a community member, they displayed a knife and cutting shears. Officers arrested the 25-year-old woman and 24-year-old man nearby and charged them with robbery and attempted malicious wounding.
An individual was assaulted at about 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 in the 4100 block of Wadsworth Court at Fairmont Gardens in Annandale. The assailant displayed a handgun, took money, and left in a vehicle. The victim was treated for injuries that were not considered life threatening.
Two men robbed an individual in the 6400 block of Lincolnia Road shortly before 11:34 p.m. on Aug. 30. One man displayed a knife, while the other took property. No injuries were reported.
