Register for Mason League Little League by March 7
Although the wintry weather doesn’t bring to mind the crack of a bat on a green field, baseball season is just around the corner.
In fact, registration for Mason District Little Leagues’ spring season closes at midnight on March 7.
MDLL, a chartered member of Little League International, seeks new and returning players ages 4-13 – whether they have baseball experience or not. The first games are March 30 and opening day ceremonies are April 6.
The league is divided into seven levels of play, ensuring that children participate at a level commensurate with their age, maturity, and ability.
MDLL offers four divisions of Minor League baseball (Tee-ball, A, AA, and AAA) plus a Major League.
There is also an Intermediate Division level designed for 13-year-old players on a larger field (50/70) as a transition from Little League to the standard, larger high school field (60/90).
In addition, this is MDLL’s second season for girls’ softball for girls ages 9-12 at all experience levels.
This season, MDLL is especially looking to expand its Majors and Intermediate divisions by encouraging 11-13-year-olds to join.
MDLL is one of the smallest leagues in the surrounding area, which allows for a more friendly, family atmosphere, with many family friendships developed over each season.
Registration fees are also the lowest among area Little Leagues and some scholarships are available.
The only requirement for registration is that families must either live within or send their children to a school within the league’s boundaries.
