Register for the Taste of Annandale 5K before the fee goes up

If you’re planning to participate in the Taste of Annandale 5K on Sept. 21, register now before the fee goes up after Aug. 31.

Register here.

The race takes place Saturday, Sept. 21, at 9:30 a.m. It starts and ends at the K Market parking lot, at 4239 John Marr Drive in Annandale. The course goes along Columbia Pike and through the trails in Mason District Park.

The 5K precedes the Taste of Annandale, which starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space at 7200 Columbia Pike.

The 5K is certified by USA Track & Field (#1703YRT), but you don’t have to be a serious runner to participate. You can walk and bring a dog or stroller.

RAMP Optimal Performance & Wellness, the 5K sponsor, will lead warm-up exercises at 9:15 a.m.

The registration fee is $30 and increases to $35 after Aug. 31. The fee for runners aged 14 and younger is $20, and goes up to $25 after Aug. 31.

On-site registration will open at 9 a.m.

Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female runners and the fastest participants in various age categories.

Need some practice? There’s another running event this weekend in Mason District Park. The Mason District 5K/10K, presented by Bishop’s Events and Connection Wellness Center, is a fundraiser for Spike’s K9 Fund, a nonprofit that provides specialized training and medical assistance to working dogs.
