Registration still open for Taste of Annandale 5K
If you’re thinking about registering for the Taste of Annandale 5K – or already signed up – here are some things you need to know.
The 5K Race, a major component the Taste of Annandale street festival, starts 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, in the Kmart parking lot at 4251 John Marr Drive.
Register online here. Runners will get T-shirts while supplies last.
On-site registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Runners can pick up their packets Friday, Oct. 4, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at PR Performance Fitness, 4111 John Marr Drive.
The course heads along Columbia Pike and goes through the trails in Mason District Park. It’s the same course as last year’s Taste of Annandale 5K. The race is certified by USA Track & Field (certificate #17034RT).
The 5K organizers thank the 7-Eleven on Hummer Road for donating water and ice and the Aldi on Columbia Pike for donating fruit and nut bars for the runners. PR Performance, a sponsor of the Taste of Annandale, will lead warm-up exercises.
There will be awards for the fastest three males and females overall and for the fastest males and females in several age categories: 14 and younger, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 and above.
Awards for the winners will be presented at the Taste of Annandale stage on Tom Davis Drive at 11:15 a.m.
