Religious group marches through Annandale
If you were driving around central Annandale Sunday afternoon, you might have seen a group of about 35 people marching with “Believe in the Lord Jesus” signs and stopping at various spots to pray in Korean.
They were from Washington Bethlehem Church. Pastor Joseph No said their objective was “to bless the land of Annandale.”
That church rents space from Capital Baptist Church at 3504 Gallows Road in Annandale.
If someone wants to do this on their own property or on their church property, fine, but they have no business inflicting their religious practices on others in displays outside of their own property.
What are you basing this on? Your own personal bias?
Let me guess – we better darn well accept others “inflicting” their gender dysphoria into every nook and cranny of our culture because not religion, but science! Biology, in particular.
I’m pretty anti-religious, but people are generally free to exercise their religion in public. The only place people aren’t free to exercise their religion is on the private property of others who forbid it, and there are limits on that too, if it is a place of public accomodation.
Marching in their own space or a public space – indeed, marching in a public forum, then this is fine. A parking lot (from the looks of the picture) and sidewalk where anyone can walk/drive in or out at their leisure are surely public fora and an acceptable place for marching.
I say, March on!! It’s called “religious freedom”; something we are very lucky to have (at least for now) in the United States of America.
How about marching over to Mason District Park and picking up trash.
Good idea – why don’t YOU march to Mason District Park and pick up the trash?
Good one! Read the comments under the ‘Park Authority Inequities’ story. VINCENT+CAREATTI already DOES pick up trash in Mason District. Unfortunately he has difficulty keeping up.
