Residents invited to a Mason District health fair Nov. 23

Mason Supervisor Andres Jimenez invites the community to a free health fair on Saturday, Nov. 23, 10 a.m.-noon, at the Mason Government Center.

Residents can get free flu shots; Medicaid application assistance; and free screenings for hearing, speech, hepatitis, HIV, blood pressure, weight and body mass.

Giveaways include naloxone for reversing fentanyl overdoses, medication boxes, gun and trigger safety locks, drug deactivation kits, and reading glasses.

Health organizations will offer information on substance abuse, mental health, dementia, caregiver support, the Stronger Memory program, dental services, and reduced-cost clinics.

In other Mason District news, Jimenez is launching a podcast called Reimagine Mason. The first episode will air Nov. 26 with Annie Ray, the Grammy-winning educator at Annandale High School.
