Restaurants offer diverse cuisines at Taste of Annandale

The Honey Pig, a popular spot at the 2015 Taste of Annandale, is returning to this year’s festival.

With the Taste of Annandale less than six weeks away, vendor spots are filling up quickly. The restaurants already lined up represent the diversity of Annandale: Peruvian, Korean, Middle Eastern, Ethiopian, Mexican, and American.

The Taste of Annandale – Oct. 1, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., on Tom Davis Drive – features live entertainment, a 5K Rece, a chili cook-off, and a special children’s area with a full range of activities – as well as food. Admission is free.

Here’s a list of the food vendors, that have so far joined up: Al Hamra, Beanetics, Cheogajp Chicken, Dama, El Fuego, Empanadas de Mendoza, the Fish Lady, Honey Pig, Siroo, SnoCream Company, Taco Ssam, Yummy Kabob. More are being added every day.

Online registration is now under way for the 5K Race. It starts at 8 a.m., with awards for the winners announced on the Taste of Annandale stage when the festival opens.

The Taste of Annandale is sponsored by the Annandale Rotary Club, Annandale United Methodist Church, and Burke & Herbert Bank.

The purpose of the Taste of Annandale is to encourage community engagement, celebrate Annandale’s diversity, and shine a spotlight on local restaurants and businesses. The festival is organized by the Annandale Roundtable, a group of private/public stakeholders and community residents. Revenue generated by the event will benefit a fund to support youth-led projects in Annandale.

If you own a local restaurant or business, it’s not too late to Join the Taste of Annandale. The organizers are also recruiting volunteers from the community to make the festival a success.
