Saturday is Arts Day at Annandale’s Pop-Up Park
The second community event at Annandale’s Pop-Up Park, on Saturday, is all about the arts.
This free, family-friendly event at the park, 5-8 p.m. at 7200 Columbia Pike, will feature interactive arts activities, including mural chalking and painting hosted by the nonprofit organization, Community Art for Everyone (CAFE).
The CAFE artists fixed up and decorated the park’s outdoor piano. [See the video about that project above.]
The Fairfax County Department of Transportation and Bike Ambassadors will be on hand to educate the public about biking in Fairfax County. They will host a bike and helmet decorating station for any participants who bike or transport their bike or helmet to the pop-up park.
The Pop-Up Park is a temporary community gathering space created by the county’s Office of Community Revitalization with the goal of attracting people to central Annandale.
Want to attend? Advance registration is encouraged at Eventbrite.
The Pop-Up Park is having Fun and Fitness Day Aug. 24 and Community Day Oct. 5 during the Taste of Annandale.
