Scene around A-town: An angel graces Evergreen Lane

Drivers along Evergreen Lane in Annandale are watched over by an angel – or at least a statue of one. Mi Suk Kim recently put up this statue of the archangel St. Michael on the side of her house at 4303 Evergreen Lane. Kim purchased the statue last fall from St. Michael Church, where it had welcomed parishioners for some 50 years. The church (7401 St. Michael’s Lane close to Ravensworth Road) auctioned off some of its old statues to make room for new ones. Formerly gray, St. Michael has been painted a brilliant white.

  1. Kind of good to know this Annandale landmark of sorts has been preserved. Not sure why St. Michaels didn't move it out to Ravensworth Rd though near their sign/marquee and sold it. but glad it has found a good home.
