Seven Corners Fire Station will be replaced
The Seven Corners Fire Station at 2949 Sleepy Hollow Road will be replaced with a larger building. Construction is expected to start in fall 2021, and the new facility should be ready for occupancy in summer 2023.
Danilo Nunez, an engineer with the Fairfax County Building Design and Construction Division, described the project at an Oct. 21 meeting of the Bailey’s Crossroads/Seven Corners Revitalization Corporation (BC7RC).

During construction, the Seven Corners Fire Station (#28) will move to a temporary firehouse at 6637 South Street in Falls Church. That structure is currently being used by the crew of the Jefferson Fire Station, while a new permanent fire station is being built on Hodge Place/Woodley Lane. That project, a year behind schedule, is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
The new Seven Corners Fire Station will be 13,500 square feet and will have two stories and three firetruck bays. The current, one-story building is 8,500 square feet and has two bays. It was built in 1975 and doesn’t have sufficient accommodations for female staff.
The new fire station will be realigned to be perpendicular to Sleepy Hollow Road. It will have energy-saving features, a stormwater management system, a “hot zone area” for material with potential contaminants, an outdoor patio, a training area, and accommodations for 14 staff. Sleeping quarters will be upstairs, so there will be a firehouse pole for a quick exit.
Currently, the bays are on either side of the building. Under the new layout, the bays would all be next to each other on one side, with working/gathering spaces on the other side.

Great news,
It's about time this place will look decent and not like a refugee camp.
Our Fire fighters and first responders deserve better!
Why should this building look different? Everything in Mason looks like a refuge center.
