Seven Corners post office robbed

The post office at the Seven Corners shopping center was
robbed by two men shortly after 11 a.m. this morning, according to a spokesperson with the
Fairfax County Police Department.

One of the suspects jumped on the postal counter and demanded money from a 55-year-old female employee. The other suspect displayed a handgun and stood near an exit inside the building. They escaped on foot with an undisclosed
amount of cash, although they could have had a car parked nearby. A police
helicopter and K9 units failed to apprehend them. The investigation is
continuing with assistance from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

Both suspects are described as black males, 19 to 25 years
old, very thin, and five feet seven to five feet nine inches tall. One was
wearing a dark-colored mask, and the other had a light-colored mask. The suspect who jumped the counter was through to be wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans.

Two post office employees were transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non-life threatening medical conditions. No shots were fired during
the robbery.
