The Shoppers grocery store in the Seven Corners shopping center will close Sept. 1, the Washington Business Journal reports.
That store, at 6360 Seven Corners Center, has been sold to Giant, which will begin a $750,000 renovation later in September. It’s one of several stores in the Shoppers chain that are being converted to Giant grocery stores.
A Giant opened last November in a former Shoppers spot at the Plaza at Landmark in Lincolnia.
The conversions are part of an effort by United Natural Foods Inc., which purchased Shoppers’ parent company, Supervalu, a year ago to sell Supervalu’s retail chains.
According to WBJ, the Seven Corners Shoppers opened in the 1990s when the Seven Corners shopping center was transformed from an interior mall to two back-to-back strip malls.

Giant is ok, but they should make an effort to stock up on Hispanic/Latino products!
More Hispanic/Latino products would means fewer products for whites, so I am not for that. "Diversity" means a decreased quality of life for whites. What are the benefits? Cheaper labor? It's not worth it.

What will happen to the Giant at Graham Park Plaza (fka Loehmann's Plaza) when that shopping center is re-developed?
They may refurbish it, but that store is under a 99 year lease and is separate from the adjacent redevelopment.
I wonder what's gonna happen with Bailey's Safeway location. No Giant or Harris Teeter will come. I can't imagine Wagmens would either. Perhaps it will not be a supermarket.

Agree. It's also obvious that that Anonymous has never set foot in that SFW because if they had, they would have known of their large international section.
I hope that anonymous enjoys their entirely flavorless meals of boiled potatoes, white bread, and American cheese.
