Shooting and assault incidents in Bailey’s Crossroads
The Fairfax County Police Department reports the following crimes in the Mason District in the past week:
There was a shooting in the 6000 block of Knollwood Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads at about midnight on Aug. 29.
Officers responding to a call about a shooting found two men inside a residential area suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both men were taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life threatening. A dark-colored vehicle was seen driving away from the area.
The victim of a robbery in Bailey’s Crossroads on Aug. 30 was treated at a hospital with serious injuries. Two men forced their way into an apartment in the 5600 block of Seminary Road at about 9:30 p.m., displayed handguns, and assaulted three victims. The men took cash and personal property.
Shootings in any neighborhood are scary. Alarmingly, this shooting happened on a block near an elementary school and public library. Ugh.
