Shot fired during attempted robbery
A suspect who attempted to steal a man’s shoes in Bailey’s Crossroads Oct. 25 brandished a pistol and fired a shot, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.
The incident occurred at 8:06 p.m. on the 3800 block of S. George Mason Drive in the Skyline area.
When the victim refused to hand over this shoes, the suspect fired one round into the air and fled. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as black and around 32 years old.
There was a robbery and stabbing incident on Oct. 24 in Annandale. Police responded at 8:35 p.m. to a report of a large group of people fighting on Little River Turnpike near the Medford Drive intersection.
Police determined that two boys had been walking along a pathway when they were confronted by a large group of teens, who began to assault one of the boys. The victim called for his father, who attempted to intervene and was stabbed with a sharp object. The suspects fled the area, but were identified by witnesses, and the investigation is ongoing. Both victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating a burglary at the Annandale Kmart at 3:43 on Oct. 24. A store employee saw a woman use a cutting tool to disable a security device and take jewelry without paying for it. The suspect was identified and warrants are on file.
