Shots fired into Annandale apartment
The Fairfax County Police Department reports the following crimes in the Annandale/Mason District area:
There were shots fired into an apartment in the 4700 block of Commons Drive in Annandale at about 10:45 p.m. on July 19. Police found casings outside an apartment and discovered a bullet had entered a window and was lodged in the ceiling. There were no injuries.
The Home Depot on 6555 Little River Turnpike in Annandale was robbed at about 6:30 p.m. on July 17.
An employee confronted two men inside the store who were attempting to leave with stolen merchandise. After one of the men displayed a knife, they both left the store with the merchandise and drove away.
An officer located an unconscious driver behind the wheel of a 1999 Jeep Cherokee stopped in a travel lane on Little River Turnpike at Guinea Road in Annandale at about 4:30 a.m. on July 19.
The driver suddenly awakened and drove off, resulting in a pursuit. Officers briefly lost sight of the SUV but soon found it nearby. The driver, Michael Stevens, 24, of Springfield, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and eluding.
