Sleepy Hollow Arts hosts open house: learn about art classes and camps this summer
The community is invited to an Open House at Sleepy Hollow Arts Studio Saturday, May 15, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., to learn about art classes and see students’ artworks.
The studio is at 3914 Moss Drive, Annandale. It’s in the Sleepy Hollow Woods neighborhood, which is having a communitywide yard sale the same day, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
The art exhibit will be both indoors and outdoors. Masks are required.
Sleepy Hollow Arts offers four-week art sessions this spring and summer for ages 7 and up for $120.
Art classes are currently available on Zoom. Classes will be outdoors in and June and indoors in July and August. Here’s the schedule:
June
Mondays, 4-6 p.m., ages 7-10 – oil pastels.
Tuesdays, 3-5 p.m., ages 11 and up – watercolor.
Fridays, 3-5 p.m., adults – acrylic.
July
Mondays, 4-6 p.m., ages 7-10 – acrylic.
Tuesdays, 3-5 p.m., ages 11 and up – oil pastels.
Fridays, 3-5 p.m., adults – oil pastels.
August
Mondays, 4-6 p.m., ages 7-10 – charcoal/pencil.
Tuesdays, 3-5 p.m., ages 11 and up – one and two-point perspective.
Fridays, 3-5 p.m., adults – charcoal.
Sleepy Hollow Arts also offers in-person summer camps starting June 7. Sessions are limited to four students and are 1-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. The cost is $150 per week.
Camp sessions cover these topics: watercolor landscapes, portrait drawing, acrylic still life, oil pastel illusions, watercolor animals, perspective drawing, acrylic landscapes, oil pastel landscapes, advanced acrylic, advanced watercolor, and pencil shading and depth.
